Prospect Records is proud to announce that we’ve added hardcore-pop punk band Collision to our roster. Collision started out with three friends (Tim, Ryan, and DJ) and a passion for music. Songs were written and drums (Johnny) were introduced as the four song demo was recorded in 2011. Still without a singer, longtime friend James was brought in after the demise of his full time band commitments with The Effort. Now armed with a demo and a full line up, Collision took to Providence/Boston to bring back live shows that are reminiscent of New Jersey pop punk circa the late 1990′s. Speedowax records will be putting the demo and Summer Sampler 2012 on a 7″ called Tiebreaker this September. They are now in the writing process for a new release entitled “Leaving Town” slated for early 2013 out on Prospect Records.
Not to be confused with today’s plethora of pop punk bands, Collision is constantly trying to stretch the limits of the common perception of what modern pop punk is amongst the masses. Finding influences in many hardcore and pop punk acts such as Gorilla Biscuits, Saves The Day, Kid Dynamite and Lifetime. Collision is ready to take over your eardrums and prove they can’t slow down.
